How does the Airscreen 500 Furnace and Air Conditioner Filter Work?
It is an electrostatic air cleaner engineered to create multistage particle collection system to trap airborne particles. The electrostatic material uses natural principles of static electricity to attract dirt particles. Air passes over the material, it creates a static charge causing particles to adhere - thus creating a cleaner, healthier home environment.

Cleaning the Airscreen Filter

It is recommended that the filter is cleaned every 3-4 months. Regular cleaning will ensure maximum air flow. How often you clean the filter could vary depending on: the type of activity and level of activity in the building, age of the building and furnishings, building tightness, hours of occupancy, condition/type of duct system and the frequency the HVAC system operates.

  1. Vacuum the surface area to remove large dust and/or lint particles
  2. Lay the filter flat and spray with a cleaning detergent (this is optional)
  3. Flush with warm water on both sides. It is suggested to use a high pressured hose to remove dirt particles
  4. The filter may be gently wiped down and allowed to dry before re-installing into furnace

Repeats steps 2 and 3 if required. This may be necessary if the filter is extremely soiled.
Please note: Make sure the filter is completely dry before reinstalling. Excess water may damage your equipment.
