Fleas are a nasty pest that many people are forced to deal with.
If you have a house pet, chances are you have experienced fleas.
Fleas are disgusting insects that have been around since the beginning
of history; and they have been the result of many horrible plagues
and diseases. Fortunately, fleas do not usually bite humans, but
they certainly love your animal. Don't worry there are many methods
in which to rid yourself of these pesky insects.
The first thing that you should know when it comes to controlling
an infestation of fleas is that you want to stop the problem before
it starts; in other words, you want to destroy the fleas before
they become adults. Fleas have an ongoing life cycle, and the shortest
and smallest of this cycle is the adult stage. There are many ways
to protect your pet from fleas. You can give them a bath, and groom
them. Fleas will multiply quickly and they lay their eggs on your
pet, so if you keep your animal well groomed, you will be able to
control the infestation that occurs within their fur.
You may wish to use a flea collar in order to control your flea
infestation. The collar produces a pesticide that kills the fleas
effectively; but you must keep in mind that if the collar is tampered
with you risk releasing pesticide vapors into the air. These are
harmful vapors that are something you won't want yourself or anyone
else in your house breathing in. Another way to control your flea
population, is to constantly vacuum the specific areas that your
pet usually rests in. Your vacuum will collect the fleas, and then
you can carefully empty your vacuum bag and dispose of it properly.
There are many ways in which you can control your flea infestation
problem. The first step is to be well aware of your pet's activities.
