Pool Filters
Pool Filters
For the standard pool, the most important piece of equipment
is the pool filter and pump system. The pool filter system is the
element that keeps your poll water clean and clear, and pleasant
to use.
There are three basic types of pool filters. These types are:
- Diatomaceous Earth (DE)
- Sand
- Cartridge
A DE pool filter is comprised of a tank including a set of fabric
covered grids (also known as pool filter elements). The fabric of
the pool filter elements is coated with a pool filtration substance
that is called diatomaceous earth. The DE is a fine, white powder
that is found within deposits in the earth. This substance media
allows water to filter through, but leaves impurities behind, so
that even microscopic particles can be removed from the water. The
two types of DE pool filters are vertical grid and the spin type.
